UNIVERSITY OF REGINA
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry expects to fill several
tenure-track positions over the next 5 years. For July 2000 (subject
to budgetary approval) we are particularly interested in appointing (a)
an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry with expertise in molecular
biological methods and/or synthesis of biochemically significant
molecules; and (b) one or two physical or analytical chemists (at the
Assistant/Associate Professor level), especially with expertise in
non-aqueous solvent systems or surface electrochemistry. The
Department has a growing presence in fundamental molecular biochemistry
(protein biochemistry, gene expression regulation, cellular
consequences of protein signalling, and anti-cancer drug interactions)
and is entering the field of scanning chemical microscopy. We also
have an ongoing relationship with industry regarding the application of
ionic liquids work in the chemical and petroleum industries and with
respect to fuel cell development.
Applicants at the Assistant Professor level should have a Ph.D. degree
and at least two years postdoctoral experience. All appointees will be
expected to teach at the basic undergraduate level as well as in their
specialty at the senior or graduate level. Each should be capable of
developing an independent, externally-funded research program and of
supervising Honours and Graduate students.
Please send applications (or expressions of interest for senior
candidates), by December 15, 1999, including a curriculum vitae, a
