Hello All,

This question is just out of curiosity. We all use Danieau's solution for zebrafish work. Does anyone know whom this solution is named after? Searching PubMed, google and Westerfield's papers did not reveal any clues. If you know, could you please share it.

I don’t know the origin of the name but this looks like a pun to me. Brachydanio rerio, Danio scientific name for the zebrafish. Water is spelled eau in french and it’s pronounced like the letter o. So if you add up Dani+ eau you get the name of the solution.
However I have no idea of who came up with it or if I’m guessing right :))
