What is the mechanism by which intense psychological stress physically-damages the brain?

Hello:

As you probably know, child molestation causes severe emotional trauma. According the link below, severe emotional stress during childhood [such as that caused by molestation or rape] will physically harm the brain to the point where seizures will occur.

"Research has shown that traumatic stress, including stress caused by sexual abuse, causes notable changes in brain functioning and development."

"Teicher et al. (1993) found that an increased likelihood of "ictal temporal lobe epilepsy-like symptoms" in abused subjects"

I assume this means any severe emotional trauma will physically-damage the brain of the sufferer. Am I right?

Also there were some terms on the link I had a hard time understanding. What do they mean? For example:

"Ito et al. (1998) found "reversed hemispheric asymmetry and greater left hemisphere coherence in abused subjects;""

and

"Anderson et al. (2002) recorded abnormal transverse relaxation time in the cerebellar vermis of adults sexually abused in childhood"

Also, what is the "Limbic System Checklist-33"?
