A white appearance in Macrophomina - any ideas?

Greetings netters

We are testing the effect of certain bacteria on
the growth of macrophomina sp. and noticed a white front where the fungi
is near/touching the bacteria. The rest of the macrophomina is black.
Any idea as what does the white front mean? I will be happy to sent
pictures as needed.
