If you have access to Medline or another search index, there's a lot out
there. Just put in pancreatitis and (radical or radicals). You could
also try superoxide and pancreatitis. If you want a recent article for
starters, you could try Scandanavian J Gastroenterol Suppl 219:101-5. I
don't
know if it's any better than any others, but I happened to find it easily in
my office. I haven't actually worked in this area. However, I keep thinking
that I'd like to, especially in regard to metallothionein or SOD. I did
find
recently that one particular phytonutrient treatment elevates SOD 1 in rat
pancreas by about 35%. I don't know if that is enough to give any
protection,
but it might if the treatment affected any other AOX molecule concentrations
(or affected SOD in certian cell types more than others). Unfortunately, I
don't currently have money "lying around" to fool with this issue.
