Dear Monica
MDA can be detected colorimetrically (1), fluorescently (2) or by HPLC
(3) following adduct formation with thiobarbituric acid.
Conjugated dienes are measurable by ultraviolet spectroscopy (4) and lipid
hydroperoxide levels can be used as a correlative index to cojugated
dienes, when detected by HPLC (5). Most of the techniques are fairly
straightforward, hope this helps.
