Does anyone know a good replacement for Novozyme 234 ( which is no
longer available). I need it in order to determine whether or not my
null mutants have an altered cell wall, that is I would like to do an
alpha-glucanse sensitivity assay. Sigma sells a product called Lysing
Enzymes but they do not test for alpha-glucanase activity. I have tried
to reproduce the published alpha-glucanase assay procedure with lysing
enymes but have been unable to do so. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

We use Zymolyase from the Seikagaku Corporation, Japan. Lyticase is
another option. We have not tried this one but it is available from
Boehringer.
