Dear colleague,

You are cordially invited to participate in the IV International Conference on Antimicrobial Research - ICAR2016, which will be held in Torremolinos-Malaga (Spain) from 29 June to 1 July 2016.

The three day conference will offer an excellent opportunity to learn and discuss about the latest research results, insights, advances... in the following fields:

  • Antimicrobial natural products
  • Biocontrol. Biosynthesis of antimicrobials
  • Bacteriophages
  • Biofilms
  • Antimicrobial materials science and surface chemistry. Antimicrobials in consumer products
  • Antimicrobial chemistry
  • Non-antibiotic biocides
  • Antimicrobial physics
  • Clinical and medical microbiology, infectious diseases and antimicrobials. Public health
  • Strengthening of innate immune system as antimicrobial strategy
  • Antimicrobial resistance. Mechanisms of action of antimicrobial agents
  • Attenuation of virulence as antimicrobial strategy
  • Techniques and methods

With this multidisciplinary approach, ICAR2016 will also be the perfect forum to explore new opportunities for collaboration. The previous edition of this conference attracted around 445 researchers from nearly 60 countries. Have a look at the scientific program and at the list of accepted abstracts of the previous edition.
We expect this year’s edition to be as successful as the previous one in terms of quality, relevance and attendance.

If you are interested in presenting your most relevant recent research results at the conference, we now welcome proposals for oral, poster or virtual presentations. Submit your abstract here!

Important deadlines:
  • Early registration:  2 March 2016
  • Abstract submission for oral presentation:  5 April 2016
  • Abstract submission for poster or virtual presentation:  20 April 2016
  • Late registration:  24 May 2016


ICAR2016 will be held in the city of Torremolinos-Malaga, which is one of the world’s major tourist resorts located on the south coast of Spain (Costa del Sol). Learn more here
