We have just installed a World Wide Web (WWW) server at the National
Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), National Library of Medicine,
National Institutes of Health, which includes GenBank-related information as
well as database searching of GenBank, other sequence databases and a
subset of Medline citations related to molecular sequence data. BLAST
sequence similarity searching is also available.

The URL is: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

The search services are front-ends to existing NCBI search systems and
their interfaces should be considered experimental. We expect to be
making changes to the interfaces and to add more data as we evaluate
user feedback and system performance. Your comments and suggestions
are welcome:

w...@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

If you are not familiar with WWW, you can get additional information and
client software (e.g., NCSA Mosaic) by anonymous FTP to NCSA: ftp.ncsa.uiuc.edu
in the /Web directory.
