Has anyone had problems with EDTA turning a clear yellow solution? I used the same protocol that others in the lab used: 186.1 g of EDTA, add 500 ml of distilled water, then add NaOH pellets until a pH of 8 is reached...but it still turns out yellow. Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Thanks.

Or there is tea in the system, or the NaOH pellets were really old ...

It is common, and varies from batch to batch. Usually it is not a problem.
If using for sensitive rxns, simply filter it through a 0.2micron filter.
