Sorry for the blank posting... I screwed up..
Anyhow: My question is sorta basic but should appeal to those chemistry
minded folks out there. I was making up a solution of 1.5M Na Acetate (ph7)
1M Beta-Mercaptoethanol and got a floculant white preciptitate.... Someone
suggested that it was due to bad B-Me so I remade the solution with some
fresh stuff and it worked just fine- no ppt. So my question is this how
long can you keep it around (B-Me)? should it be at 4 degrees (the second
batch was kept in the fridge) or at RT? and what goes "bad"? can you
tell some other way?
Thanks
Jeff
