Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or
Flavor Chemistry with outstanding academic performance and experience
with publications in peer- reviewed journals in spectroscopy and
chromatography research. The candidate must possess strong ability in
the design of experiments and command in-depth knowledge of analytical
sampling and sample preparation techniques. A background in flavor
research, biological sampling techniques or knowledge of sensory
physiology in olfaction and gustation is highly desirable. Strong
interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are a must.

The successful candidate will engage in the development and validation
of novel analytical methodologies for flavor analysis and conduct
independent research into the formation, transfer and analysis of
flavor compounds resulting from pyrolysis and combustion and
mechanistic studies of chemical pathways. The candidates are expected
to show a high level of creativity to develop unconventional
approaches to improve upon the determination of the physical and
chemical properties of flavor compounds.
