review on ecology, biodiversity conservation, natural resources
management/policy, and global climate change in moist tropical forests of
Congo Basin for the US-AID 'Central African Regional Program for the
Environment' (CARPE) Program. Attended and assisting in planning/convening
of US-AID-funded international conference on off-site biodiversity
conservation for rare and endangered organisms, wrote conference proceedings
agenda , preliminary scientific review document, draft executive summary,
and recommendations for donor agencies. All above entailed liaison with
federal, and environmental or conservation organization members. Others:

Advocacy of Scientific Issues and Conservation of Biodiversity.

1994 -Submitted proposal to the Governor of Hawai 'i to develop a new
commercial license plate for domestic automobiles that would assist in the
conservation of endemic flora, fauna, and habitat in the Hawaiian Islands.
Funds also would be used to contribute to conservation education at the high
school level and to programs aimed at eradication of alien introduced
species. With Assistance from the Sierra Club, this proposal has been
re-submitted after initial rejection in 1992.

1995 - Submitted a proposal to the Chevy Chase Savings Bank of Maryland
to develop special 'Green' savings accounts that would enable members to
donate funds automatically to the conservation of threatened and endangered
plants, animals, and habitats in Maryland.
