Virus purification project - search for partners

Dear all,

I am about starting to write a proposal for a research project

about a novel method for isolation / purification of virus

particles from cell culture supernatants for use as antigens for

diagnostic assay production.

I have published the first article on this method "A technique for

isolation of rubella virus-like particles by sucrose gradient

ultracentrifugation using Coomassie brilliant blue G crystals" last

year (Anal.Biochem. 308 (2002) 232-238) and I am searching now

for

(1) interested international research partners, who can provide me

with stable transfected cell lines (or other expression systems)

that secretes any virus-like particles that may become by my

research more interesting for use as an antigen for assay

production. I will try to carry forward the technique from the

already described method for Rubella virus purification also to

other virus particles.

Density gradient ultracentrifugation has to be the final

purification step.

(2) Any industrial research partners that are interested to test

antigens for assay production (e.g. immunoblot test stripes) are

also welcome and will be mentioned in my research proposal.

The advantage for an industrial partner in such a collaboration

will be to obtain antigens at a lower price and the greatest part

of the developing work will be done by my research work.
