Cellular Symbiosis: Symbiotic Molecules in Action

I was once involved in a research on sensory system involving the serum
retinol binding like proteins of Octopus sp. These proteins bind with
retinol (Vit. A) and here I see a form of interdependency between these two
molecules. The retinol may not essentially assume an organismic function
without binding with the srbp and vice versa. Though the relationship here
may not be obligate, there is to a certain degree an aspect of symbiosis
(needs a deeper
meaning in this case). I hope that we find more molecules which have
similar roles thus opening a new study in Symbiosis.

Prof. Isidro Savillo
