A method for the diagnosis of atherosclerosis using plasma CD36 has been
described in a US patent application published on Sept. 1 ,2011. According to
this invention, an increase of the CD36 concentration to at least 1.15 times
the standard level is an indication of an atherosclerotic plaque in
