Dr Ria Deshpande will be the speaker for this month’s biomodelling seminar. She has an undergraduate degree from Smith College and PhD from the Liu lab at University of California Irvine. Title: OrthoRep: Evolving proteins a million times faster than nature
Abstract:
I will be talking primarily about the work I did during my PhD. I worked on the system my lab invented, OrthoRep, for evolving proteins a million times faster than nature.
I will discuss how OrthoRep works, some of the opportunities and challenges of working with this system, as well as other continuous evolution systems; some applications, and some background on how the system was built.
