Dear all,
Next Monday we will invite the iPSC specialist
Beatrice Weykopf to give a talk on
induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) and its application in Neurodegenerative disease modeling. Please join us.
Time: Monday Nov 19th, 12:00 PM
Place: Building of Transformative Medicine (BTM), 2006B, conference room
Title: Introducing Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSC) for Neurodegenerative Disorder Modeling
Beatrice Weykopf specialized in her PhD on disease modeling of Parkinson’s disease using induced pluripotent stem cells. Her research was focused on identifying and assessing rapid an early disease relevant phenotypes in an iPS neuronal model of Parkinson’s disease using iPSCs from patients carrying a mutation in the LRRK2 gene. She recently joined the Neurogenomics lab and Precision Neurology Program of Dr. Clemens Scherzer.
Note that this is one of the "Biology 101" talks we occasionally have in our Bioinformatics Club. So, feel free to ask any questions relevant to the topic. The goal is to get everyone on the same page after the talk.
News! We have run the club for
over a year, providing
40 talks for more than
600 persons in audiences. Thanks for your supports from every aspect!! Now we are scheduling talks for 2019 and obviously we need more voluntary speakers. If you think this is helpful, please try to join us as a presenter as well. If you have no idea what to present, we have compiled
nice & short materials for you to begin. So,
please grab a topic of your favorite and schedule a date with me.
Thanks!
Xianjun Dong, PhD
