General Information
The Tauber Bioinformatics Research Center at the University of Haifa conducts research in bioinformatics of the high-throughput omics data (NGS, Mass-spec, structural data) by developing algorithms and scaled hardware/software solutions for data analysis and data integration. The Center participates at high-profile medical data analysis/integration projects in Israel and abroad.
Job Description
• Take part in the development of computer applications in the area of omics analysis and data integration
• Focus on cutting edge algorithms in several areas of computational biology.
• Develop and perform automated and manual tests to ensure the quality of the bioinformatics algorithms.
• Biological interpretation of the bioinformatics analysis results.
• Become part of an international development team.
Job Requirements
• A PHD in Genomics, Genetics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics (or similar), and a passion for problem solving
• Required skills:
o Experience in biology/bioinformatics and the area of omics analyses – must
o Algorithms development experience - an advantage.
o Good knowledge of mathematics, machine learning, and statistics - an advantage.
o Good written and verbal English.
o Proven independent working style, technical problem solving, data analysis and generation of novel ideas.
• Experience: more than 2 years working experience in algorithms and bioinformatics applications.
