The ISCB Text Mining Community of Special Interest (COSI) invites abstract submissions for presentation at our annual session at ISMB/ECCB on Thursday, July 27, 2023. We welcome abstracts of unpublished or recently published research that highlights the use of text mining to address significant biological problems or which advances text mining methods. The primary goal of the Text Mining COSI is to foster collaboration between researchers who develop text mining tools and those who actively use or are interested in using these tools for novel discoveries.

This year's session will feature a panel discussion exploring the applications of large language models, such as ChatGPT, in the fields of biology and medicine.

Submissions will be reviewed and selected for either oral presentation at the Text Mining COSI session or poster presentation. Presenters are expected to attend in person in Lyon; however, those unable to travel may request a waiver to present via live stream. Talks will be broadcast live through the virtual platform for participants. All presenters are required to provide a pre-recorded talk for the virtual platform library in advance of the conference. These recordings will be available shortly after the live presentation, allowing faster and more seamless access to conference content for virtual participants.
