If you worry about artificial intelligence replacing our jobs (relax - it will be a while still) have a look at my new exhibition in Dublin at the wonderful Science Gallery.
The show avoids the typical presentation of humanoid robots or self-driving cars, and presents ways that machine learning can expose and amplify our human glitches, like our biases or habit of projecting human qualities onto everything. In the exhibition are examples of machines practicing mindfulness, creating art, mourning a death, and acting nervous. There is also a handmade version of an AI-generated Rembrandt and a Tickle Salon where you can feel a machine's caress.
For more about the show's thesis, you can see an
interview with me by the Irish Times about the future of power-sharing, education and taxation. This
essay for the exhibition goes into more detail.
I welcome any questions or comments and hope you might have a chance to see the show in Dublin.
Thanks for your time!
