Hi there,

I can't find information of mouse genes. I type the gene name of
mouse, only human version shows up. Haw can I change it to mouse.

I used to see data of mouse genes (of all genes I was interested)
before. Has it been changed?

Sincerely,
Sonoko

Hi Sonoko,

See the attached screenshot for how to change the species. You're the second person today to note that we've hidden this feature a little too carefully, so we'll be thinking hard about how to make this more intuitive.

As a general note about BioGPS behavior, currently each plugin shows the content for the highest "ranked" organism for which data is available (where the default rank is human, mouse, rat, then fly). In the future, we plan on allowing greater user control over how species are displayed and selected.

Hope that helps...

Cheers,
-andrew

Just a follow up note on the issue of the species selector.  Since our previous drop-down menu seemed to be too subtle such that many users were missing it, we decided to increase its prominence a bit.  See the new design of the species selector below.

Just to reiterate BioGPS's behavior, we group genes into orthology groups based on Homologene, and all species available for a given orthology group are shown in the drop-down species selector.

Cheers,

-andrew
