主题: Frontiers V4 I3/IBS conference deadlines/satellite neotropical biogeography meeting

Dear Biogeographers

I just wanted to touch base with some upcoming deadlines and new information out:

1)  The new issue of Frontiers of Biogeography has just been released - check out http://escholarship.org/uc/fb for another great issue!  If you would like to download the whole issue as a pdf, you can do so at http://www.biogeography.org/html/fb.html

2)  If you haven't yet signed up - the early registration deadline for the upcoming IBS conference in Miami is less than 2 weeks away - Oct 18, 2012.  Workshops and some field trips have limited capacity and are filling up fast - sign up soon if you wish to attend a particular one (Link to registration information)

3) As a satellite meeting - the Network for Neotropical Biogeography will be hosting their second meeting immediately after the 6th Biennial meeting of the International Biogeography Society on January 14th, 2013. The symposium will be at the beautiful Montgomery Botanical Center in Miami. The focus is on integrating research projects where each research group will be given a time slot to jointly present their current and planned activities, followed by discussion for feedback and possible interactions with the other participants (e.g. joint fieldwork, material exchange, scholarships, etc).

More information can be found at:

All the best,
Karen Faller
