Description:
Applications are invited for a Spine Biomechanics fellowship at the
Biomechanics Research Laboratory, Department of Orthopaedics and
Rehabilitation, Yale University School of Medicine.
Current and future projects within our lab include:
- Neck injury prevention during whiplash
- Effect of orthoses on spine stability
The position is presently limited to one year. It may be extended
depending upon the candidate's performance during the first year and
availability of funding. Those with Ph.D. will be considered for
Post-doctoral Associate, while those with either B.S. or M.S. will be
considered for Post-graduate Associate. The salary will be commensurate

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will: - have recently
completed a Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Biomedical or Mechanical
Engineering with special interest in biomechanics of the human spine. -
have knowledge of solid mechanics, kinematics theory, computer
programming, and instrumentation - have excellent interpersonal
communication skills and work habits - be self-starting, independent,
and motivated to learn - have a special interest or background in
experimental testing of in vitro biomechanical models - eagerness to
pursue an exciting career path in Orthopaedic Bioengineering research
