Hi SJSU Students -

Here is a valuable opportunity for a summer internship within a broad sustainability effort (5-18 hours per week beginning mid June 2016 for a period of approximately two months).

The Consultative Group on Biological Diversity (CGBD), "a professional association of grantmakers with a shared vision for a sustainable, just and healthy future for all life on Earth", is looking for an intern.

TO APPLY - see attached. Deadline for application is May 1st, 2016.

I hope our students go for this!

Thanks,

Josh Mackie

Hi everyone

Hope this finds you well.

Since you are in the SF area, this internship opportunity may be of interest to the SEEDS students. Please do pass it on.  And do mention SEEDS in your application – it should give you a couple of brownie points as I have met with Lynn, the director of CGBD. As you can see – they are specifically interested in helping with the career of a SEEDS student. Underrepresented minorities in ecology are strongly encouraged to apply!

Teresa

Hi, Teresa & Fred,

Please help with this…see the message from last year’s intern…we want to help get a career track moving for a SEEDs person:

On April 22nd I was scrambling to finish my college assignments, find housing in San Francisco, and absorb everything I could from Marina [Cazorla-GOC Manager on sabbatical May-July, 2015.] Four months later I am thankful to all of the staff members at CGBD for sharing their wisdom and banter. A large take away from this summer is that hard work and laughter among colleagues, friends even, can make any project more attainable. Thank you CGBD; I am better prepared for the workforce because of you. I am amazed and grateful for the network of nonprofits I have plugged in to. Every person who I emailed or met in person was passionate about their work and made me feel more confident that the field of environmental conservation (marine, land, and otherwise) is where I belong. I am excited for this new chapter in my life and I would like to thank everyone for the part they played in making tomorrow a more livable and sustainable world. Thank you.                        ---Sofia Oleas, Intern, Summer 2015
