Hi:

Where is the “overlays” interface? According with the

Quick Start Guide "Vector overlays can be plotted using the “overlays” interface at the bottom of the screen" Maybe in the new version changed its place.

Thanks a lot for your help

Francisco

Hello Francisco,

The quick start guide is in need of an update.

The overlays can now be accessed via the Display menu to the left of the map.

Regards,
Shawn.

Hi Shawn:

Is there a way to change (edit) the size of the cell lat/long once you have a project in Biodiverse? I looked in the Basedata menu but I did not find the way.

Thanks

Francisco

Hello Francisco,

You can change the resolution using multiples of the current cell sizes (unless your data have zero cell sizes in which case any value is possible).
https://biodiverse-analysis-software.blogspot.com/2019/04/reduce-spatial-resolution-of-your-data.html

It is not possible to go to a finer resolution as the original coordinates are not retained.  In those cases the data need to be reimported.

Regards,
Shawn.

Hi Shawn:

I am trying to use the Mexico overlays, which I am sending in this mail, and they do not work. Biodiverse says: "No shapes overlap the plot area" Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks

Francisco

Hello Francisco,

The likely reason is that the shapefile coordinate system does not match that of the BaseData, for example your BaseData coordinates use a UTM coordinate system but the shapefile uses decimal degrees (WGS84 for your data).  If this is the case then your shapefile can be reprojected to match your spatial data using GIS software.  The gdalwarp utility can also be used if GDAL is installed and you are comfortable using the command line.

I have created an issue to improve the error message.

Shawn.
