I have installed Biodiverse 3.1 on a Windows 10 machine but have been unable to run the program - the DOS interface flashes up, disappears and the standard windows interface does not appear. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hello David,

I assume you are using the executable version, not the source code version.

Could you try running the executable from the command line?

Open a cmd window, change directory to the executable and then type it.  e.g.:

cd \path\to\the\exe\file
.\BiodiverseGUI.exe

Could you then copy and paste the text that goes to the cmd window and send it to me?   If it works then it will look something like the text below.

Regards,
Shawn.

For the benefit of the list, this was solved off-list.

The issue was that Windows Defender and the antivirus software on the target machine meant the component files were incompletely unpacked.

The solution (workaround) for now is to acknowledge the warnings and proceed.  This is not ideal, and signing the application is something we aim to implement for a future release.

Regards,
Shawn.
