Hi CCL Community & Friends,

This Saturday, August 21st, CCL will host an in-person class led by myself and Jessica McGrath all about how to clone DNA from one source and insert it into another organism. If you're excited about programming cells, but were waiting for your chance to get hands-on, this is it! Likewise, if you're an old hand in the lab, but want to brush up your skills, this is also a great opportunity.

The cost of the class is $25. However, as is tradition at CCL, no one will be turned away for lack of funds. The class is open only to CCL members. If you're not a CCL member, you can still join in time for the class.

The DNA we'll learn on are genes for producing bright colors. At the end of the class we'll have E.coli cells that grow in different colors, and we'll distribute those to community labs around the country that want to use them for bio-art.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Hope to see you there!

Tim
