To help grow the project and give opportunities to those now at home, the team is launching an inaugural online internship program. This is a volunteer position with a non-profit and those who complete the program will be able to gain experience, and offer us as a reference for the future.
The internship is online with the Open Insulin community project and will have a global focus. The internship will run for eight weeks with the expectation of working six hours a week and attending Open Insulin community meetings.
With traditional lab experiences restricted, this internship instead focuses on the different areas connecting to running a nonprofit and opportunities for leadership. Interns will work in teams on social media management, digital marketing, education, regulatory research, or fundraising strategy with the goal of expanding the reach of the OI initiative. Each intern team will be assigned to a mentor with a weekly meeting. Given the independent nature of this program, interns will be expected to be self-responsible and problem-solve under loose guidance. More info: https://openinsulin.org/untitled/
