The Society for Bacteriophage Research and Therapy (SBRT, India), in association with the International Bacteriophage Research Consortium (IBRC), launched a webinar series by experts on phage therapy and phage proteins on September 14, 2026.
Series Theme: Novel transformative approaches in bacteriophages & phage proteins, creating new possibilities for their therapeutic and biotechnological applications.
Fourth speaker in the series: Dr. Dev Mittar, Scientific Director, ASM Health Unit at the American Society for Microbiology (ASM).
Dr Dev Mittar leads strategic initiatives in diagnostics, microbiome science, artificial intelligence, and therapeutic innovation, and Phage Therapy Coordination Network (PTCN) and development of the proposed Phage Therapy Coordination Platform (PTCP). The efforts are aimed at improving patient access to phage therapy through coordination, collaboration, and evidence generation. In this webinar, he will discuss how ecosystem partnerships and shared infrastructure can help advance clinical phage therapy worldwide.
