We are pleased to announce the 2026 ASM Global Research Symposium on Decoding Microbial Systems
will take place September 29–October 1, 2026, in New Delhi, India, in partnership with the CSIR-Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology (CSIR-IGIB). Applications are now open, and interested participants are invited to apply!
This year the international symposium will convene researchers, clinicians, computational biologists and industry leaders to examine how advances in genomics, microbiology and data-driven approaches are shaping our understanding of microbial systems in health and disease.

Focus Areas
The symposium will highlight research across key areas central to advancing microbial systems science. Submissions aligned with the following topics are encouraged:
-
Sensing and Response: Examining how microbes detect and react to environmental signals.
-
Host–Microbe Crosstalk: Exploring interactions that influence health and disease.
-
Community Behavior: Highlighting dynamics within microbial communities.
-
Evolution and Adaptation: Addressing mechanisms driving microbial diversity.
-
Decoding With Data: Showcasing how genomics, multi-omics and computational tools are enabling new discoveries in microbial biology.
