It is our great pleasure to announce you the 13th edition of the International Work-Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering (IWBBIO 2026), which will take place in Gran Canaria (Spain) in July 15th-17th, 2026. Please, find further information about our conference at the website: https://IWBBIO.ugr.es .
For this new edition and due to your wide experience in the areas of Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering, we would like to propose you for joining us in this conference, presenting your contribution.
The IWBBIO 2026 (13th International Work-Conference on Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering) seeks to provide a discussion forum for scientists, engineers, educators and students about the latest ideas and realizations in the foundations, theory, models and applications for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research encompassing disciplines of computer science, mathematics, statistics, biology, bioinformatics, and biomedicine.
We encourage you to submit paper focused on interesting, relevant and original works that are related to these subjects. We also admit the submission of short abstracts. You could also be interested in organizing a special session for this conference. These are some important dates for the submission (can be extended, information in the web page).
IMPORTANT DATES
- Submission of Special Session proposals: Januray 25th, 2026.
- Submission of Papers or Abstract by authors: (first round) Januray 30th, 2026.
- Notification of provisional acceptance: March 27th, 2026.
- Submission of Papers or Abstract by authors: (second round) March 21th, 2026.
- Notification of provisional acceptance: April 25th, 2026.
- IWBBIO Conference: July 15th-17th, 2026.
The only difference between the different rounds is the date of notification of provisional acceptance to authors.
The time limitation of full-paper is due to the fact that all documentation must be submitted to Springer-LNBI, in advance. This restriction, however, does not apply to abstracts. Therefore, Abstract can also be submitted until 20th May.

- Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovative Technologies in Medical Research.
- Development of Cancer Treatment: Translational Research and Early Clinical Trials.
- Translational and integrative Bioinformatics.
- Next generation sequencing and sequence analysis.
- Computational systems for modelling biological processes.
- High performance in Bioinformatics and Proteomics.
- Biomarkers and Diagnostic Approaches.
- Translational Medicine and Clinical Applications.
- Nanomedicine and Nanobiology.
Paper publication: Full papers and Abstract
All accepted full papers will be published under Lecture Notes in Bioinformatics (LNBI - Springer). We encourage authors of full paper to include their ORCIDs in the contribution. Authors should consult Springer's authors guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word for the preparation of their papers.
Abstract submissions are also accepted (at least two pages in LNBI format). Abstracts must be submitted directly in the EasyChair platform.
Special issues:
A list of papers with very high quality will be selected to be extended and submitted in different special issues.
