Hello, Galaxy Community!
We’re thrilled to announce that the 2026 Galaxy Community Conference (GCC2026) will take place from June 22 to 24, 2026, in Clermont-Ferrand, France, hosted by Université Clermont Auvergne (UCA), with CollaborationFest (CoFest) immediately following from June 25 to 26.
GCC is the annual event where the global Galaxy community comes together to learn, connect, and build the future of open, reproducible, data-intensive science. Whether you’re a researcher, developer, trainer, or open-science advocate, GCC2026 is for you!
What to Expect:
Hear the latest on Galaxy-powered discoveries, workflow innovation, and new tools across life sciences, climate, imaging, and more.
Participate in practical sessions designed for every level, from new users to expert administrators.
Join teams to develop tools, docs, and training materials in an open, creative environment. No coding required, just curiosity and collaboration!
Meet contributors, mentors, and collaborators from around the world. Build new connections that last far beyond the conference.
Why Clermont-Ferrand?
Located in the heart of France’s volcanic Auvergne region, Clermont-Ferrand offers a breathtaking backdrop for science and collaboration. From the dramatic Chaîne des Puys volcano range (a UNESCO World Heritage site) to lively cafés and world-class cuisine, it’s a perfect mix of inspiration and innovation. Our hosts at Université Clermont Auvergne are dynamic leaders in bioinformatics and open science, and we’re proud to partner with them to bring GCC back to Europe.
We can’t wait to see the Galaxy Community gather again, this time in the shadow of volcanoes, fueled by collaboration and creativity!
Mark your calendars and start planning your trip to GCC2026 in Clermont-Ferrand!
