The Department of Biotechnology. Ministry of Science and Technology, Government
of India has launched a nationwide call entitled "D.E.S.I.G.N for BioE3 Challenge" for young innovators under the theme “Empowering Youth to Solve Critical Issues of their TIMES”. The aim of the challenge is to conceptualize innovative designs and solutions
to address real world challenges. This call also aims to empower grassroots innovators, foster youth-lead change, and strengthen India’s journey towards sustainable and self-reliant bioeconomy. The Category 1 of the Challenge is open to School students from
Class 6 to 12. On the other hand, category 2 of the challenge is open to all Indian citizens. The Key aspects of Category 2 of the Challenge are placed below:

Participants are expected to display their basic understanding of the BioE3 Policy
and its possible implementation through imaginative, creative and concise ideas towards a sustainable, clean, and self-reliant future for our country.

Top 10 winning solutions will receive Rs 1.00 Lakh each (1st Round) every month for the next 12 months. (November 2025 to October 2026)

Up to 100 grants with upper limit of INR 25 lakh each to help winners convert their Design ideas to real-world solutions through Round 2
The February 2026 Window is open now and we request you to hurry up and apply
well before the closing date which is 20th February 2026.
