To allow more time for nominations, the deadline for the 2027 HFSP Nakasone Award has been extended to 22 February 2026 (23:59 CET).
This extension provides an additional opportunity to nominate scientists whose recent breakthroughs have advanced the frontiers of the life sciences and align with HFSP’s mission to understand the complex mechanisms of living organisms.
The HFSP Nakasone Award recognizes a clearly defined discovery or series of discoveries from the past 10 years that has had a significant conceptual impact across the global scientific community. Experimental, conceptual, and technological breakthroughs are all eligible.
HFSP remains strongly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we particularly encourage nominations of women scientists, early-career researchers, scientists from underrepresented backgrounds, and those based in equity-seeking countries.
