Dear All

Dr. Abhinav Grover, DST INSPIRE Faculty is to receive INSA Gold Medal in the award ceremony to take place during December '13.  Abhinav works for School of Life Sciences, JNU, New Delhi. 

He worked on the  overexpression of squalene synthase in tissue cultures of Withania somnifera demonstrating that it enhances production of withanolides confirming that squalene synthase is a key regulatory enzyme of their biosynthetic pathway.  The bioinformatical approach followed by the wet lab work he has done  has caught interest. He won the Bioclues Innovation, Research and Development (BIRD) award for the year 2012, where he received the award in a function organized at Osmania University.
