HiTSeq 2021 Call for Abstracts - Virtual Conference, July 2021

HiTSeq is the yearly gathering of the ISCB Community of Special Interest in High Throughput Sequencing algorithms. This meeting takes the form of a topical track at the ISMB  2021 Conference, and is devoted to the latest advances in computational techniques for the analysis of high-throughput sequencing (HTS) data. It provides a forum for in depth presentations of novel algorithms, analysis methods, and methods enabling applications in multiple areas of biology that HTS is transforming.

HiTSeq is a track of the ISMB 20212 conference, which this year will be a virtual conference held jointly with the ECCB conference in European time. HiTSeq 2021 3-day program will include keynote talks from Angela Brooks (UCSC), Bjarni Halldorsson (Reykjavik University & deCode), and Steven Salzberg (JHU). In addition a number of talks will be delivered from authors of accepted ISMB proceeding papers. For more information see: http://hitseq.org

We are soliciting abstracts on research and tools on the convergence of sequencing and biology to be reviewed for either oral or poster presentation at the conference - we are interested all topics related to high-throughput sequencing data analysis, including genome sequencing and assembly, genetic variation analysis, cancer genomics, transcriptomics, epigenetic, metagenomics, and general sequence analysis algorithms, in particular those where new sequence technologies and data analysis modalities are applied.

The HiTSeq program will be composed of over 20 talks, half of them selected from abstract submissions. In order to provide enough information to be considered as talks, abstract can extend up to two pages, where methods and some results (including optionally a table or figure) can be provided.

The abstracts that are not selected for talks, will be presented as e-posters, where authors will be able to submit their poster PDF and a brief "flash talk" recording on their research, to be posted in the ISMB 2021 virtual poster plaza. Thee will be times set-up to allow for Q/A between attendees and poster presenters to allow for interactivity in this new format. Abstract should be submitted through the ISMB abstract EasyChair submission system. Please be sure to select HiTSeq as you COSI for submission in our track. For more information please review HiTSeq website.

Key Dates/Deadlines:
  • Abstract deadline (talks and ePosters): May 6, 2021
  • Abstract acceptance notification: May 27, 2021
  • Late abstract deadline (ePosters only): June 3, 2021
