The Otto Warburg Medal 2017

On September 24th the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM) will award the Otto Warburg Medal. This is the most prestigious prize in Germany for biochemists and molecular biologists with first-class, internationally recognized scientific contributions in these fields.

Prof. Dr. Stefan JentschThis year's laureate is Prof. Dr. Stefan Jentsch.
The Otto Warburg Medal will be awarded posthumously to the renowned cell biologist Prof. Dr. Stefan Jentsch, who passed away in October 2016. The award honors his ground-breaking research on the importance of the protein Ubiquitin and its role in protein degradation.
