Is this part of what is helping to drive the US Biochar Initiatives forward so rapidly??
(For instance, in December last year the Defense Logistics Agency signed a contract to purchase 450,000 gallons of advanced drop-in advanced biofuels for the U.S. Navy...)

The US military is famed for its ability to rapidly develop advanced technology, much of which eventually gets utilized in a peaceful manner eventually. (The latest example might be GPS technology...)

The "advanced biofuels" industry is being pushed ahead by the US military, which sees it as a security issue.

After all, the US military has already warned that oil output "may dip, causing massive shortages by 2015″:

" ...a Joint Operating Environment report from the US Joint Forces Command... has warned that surplus oil production capacity could disappear within two years and there could be serious shortages by 2015 with a significant economic and political impact"

Do we implore our Canadian Military to try and also do the same thing?

If the biochar byproduct of producing "bio-oil" can harness the fees it can get for "cleaning up the environment" [and mitigating Climate Change], then its value as a fuel and in other products will be a bonus, and it could become very, very profitable.
