Final Biochar Guidelines
Now Online. Register for an Informational Webinar Below.
International Biochar
Initiative is leading the international biochar
community in the open, transparent and inclusive process of
creating Standardized Product Definition and
Product Testing Guidelines for Biochar That Is Used in Soil,
also known as Biochar Guidelines. IBI has
incorporated comments and suggestions received during the most
recent public comment period, and the final document has now
been posted on the IBI
Biochar Guidelines page.
A set of Frequently Asked Questions
(FAQ) is also available on the IBI
Biochar Guidelines page along with previous drafts of the
Biochar Guidelines and process documentation.
The next step in the process is for the IBI membership to
vote on the Biochar Guidelines in a balloting process
that will run from April 23 - May 6, 2012.
(Only dues-paying IBI members will be permitted to vote, if
you'd like to join and vote during the balloting period, please
In preparation for balloting, IBI
is offering two identical informational webinars Overview
of the Biochar Guidelines Final Document, to
assist IBI Members in understanding the content of the Biochar
Guidelines and the most recent changes to the document.
The webinars are offered at two different time periods in order
to accommodate participants across the globe, and it is free and
open to the general public as well as IBI Members. See the
schedule and registration links below.
Again, if you would like to
participate in the decision ballot, you must be a dues-paying
member of IBI. To become a member, please
If you are not able to attend one
of the webinars, you may view the webinar slides that will be
posted on the IBI Biochar
Guidelines page after the first webinar concludes.
If you have questions that are not answered by the FAQ or the
webinar, please address them to BiocharGu...@gmail.com.
Here is the webinar schedule with
registration links. (To find the correct time and date in your
