IMB is an excellent utility spell, able to knock multiple enemies back at once. It can push enemies away from melee (staircase) range, or make it easier to reposition yourself. Because it is a Conjurations spell, blaster casters won't need much investment to cast this spell. Affordable MP cost, too.
So a player of mine, "Jimbob", wants to play as a mystic and I'm willing to give it a spin because the flavor sounds awesome. Looking through the discipline he's choosing we found he'd have access to Psionic Blast, which is as follows:
Channeling the energies of the Dark Hadou, the Nekomatta rears back and puts her hands at her waist before thrusting forward and releasing a blast of energy. As a standard action, Make a single attack roll against the first creature standing in a 60 foot line, if the attack hits it deals Damage equal to your natural attack along with an additional +1d6 damage per level (Max +20d6). The remaining creatures get a reflex save to take half damage DC: 16+ Strength modifier. Any creature taking damage must make a fortitude save of the same DC or be blinded for 1 round.
Nail uses this attack during his battle against Frieza in a bid to stall him for Dende to deliver the Namekian Dragon Balls password to Gohan and Krillin. Nail has his back turned to Frieza and has a short conversation with him in order to drop his guard. Nail then turns around and blasts Frieza with the Mystic Flasher, but unfortunately, the blast has little effect.
In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 it appears under the name Mystic Flash and is one of Nail's Ultimate Skills, though it is only the turn-around blast, leaving it to be a tricky Ultimate Skill to land, however it is perfect for dealing with enemy attacks from the rear. It can be obtained by the Future Warrior as a reward in Parallel Quest 20: "Frieza! Show Yourself!!". After the 1.09.00 Update, it can be added to Piccolo's custom skillset after purchasing it in Partner Customization. Presumably Piccolo inherited it through his fusion with Nail as he can also unlock Nail's Do or Die skill through customization as well.
I focus on game mechanics and do not discuss story elements, particular chapters or character development from a narrative point-of-view. Just for fun (and hopefully discussions) I use a rating system. Our second mouse in the spotlight: Maginos, the mystic.
Finally, keep in mind that Strangle Vines has the same relative chance to generate cheese for Maginos as Chain Lightning (three attack dice on both spells). I think there is only one reason not to select this ability card: leaving it for another mystic.
While clearly designed for another mystic mouse, Voodoo Doll can be fantastic against low-defense minions. Defeating one roach and watching it nibble on its companion is not the worst use of an action.
The tinkerer could craft a Lucky Skullcap in the very first tile of your campaign. While all mice can benefit from certain items, I think that no other mouse improves as much as the mystic by receiving just one item. Nez can also create Catnip, which could make summoning Brodie a viable option.
Mystic Mine is a true party video game. All you need is thecomputer that you are using now. Each round lasts a few minutes, and all players can participate until the very end. After the roundis finished, anyone can join or leave the game. You don't even haveto be an experienced player to win the game, so everyone will havea blast!
