Bobble St: Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull through (three loops on hook), yarn over and pull through 2 of the loops. Repeat the previous step four more times so that you have five not-quite-complete dc stitches worked into the same stitch. There will be six loops on the hook. Yarn over and pull through all six loops. This closes your bobble crochet stitch.

Repeat rows 6 through 29 for the rest of the blanket until you reach your desired length and end with 5 rows of HHDC in White. I ended up with 16 bobbles rows when my blanket was the length I wanted.

A further note about the scale. The STRI article about the method says to measure the bobble test with twelve rolls on a green. Basically, do this as a stimpmeter measurement at one location on the green, then do a stimpmeter measurement at another location on the green. This is twelve rolls that each get a score. The average of those rolls is rarely an integer.

Another common way to do this would be to assess the bobble test for a set of greens, by doing six rolls on multiple greens. If one does this at the same time as stimpmeter measurements, and does a single stimpmeter test on three greens, that is 18 rolls to average for the bobble test score. Again, that is rarely an integer.

After you cast on and work the first line of simple bobbles, you alternate rows of knits and purls to make a beautiful swath of stockinette. A neat slip-stitch selvage and regularly-spaced bobbles at each edge keep things interesting and fun!

The Bobble Edge Wrap comes in three sizes, and with over 600 yards per skein, you can make the smallest size with only one, and it takes only two skeins for the medium or large! So cast on and celebrate summer with your own tiny garland of bobbles!

[Knit front and back] 2 times into next stitch, then knit into front one more time. Turn work so wrong side is facing you, purl 2 together (p2tog), p1, p2tog. Turn work so right side is facing you, slip slip knit pass (s2kp). Fluff bobble, if necessary.

Thanks for reaching out! You could absolutely knit this wrap without the bobbles, but I wanted to let you know that it would end up just being a large square of stockinette stitch. To make this, you would just need to repeat Rows 2 and 3 throughout the entire pattern!

Yarn over and pull the yarn through all six loops in one go. Pull the yarn to tighten the bobble up. In the next stitch, do a single crochet then five double crochets in the next stitch, finished off together then a single crochet in the stitch after that.

"Most of the bobbleheads we sell are limited to 360 pieces and they take months to sell," said Travis Pyan, managing partner of Clark Toys. "When the buzz on this item started this morning, we sold 100 in 30 minutes."

A mock-up of the bobblehead featured a headline that said Colon was the oldest pitcher in MLB history to hit a home run, when he was actually the oldest player to hit his first career home run. Pyan said fans who buy the bobblehead will get an accurate headline.

MB Make Bobble: Knit into the next stitch, leaving it on the left needle, (yarn over, knit 1) into same stitch two times. Turn work so wrong side is facing you, k5; turn work so right side is facing you, k2tog; return stitch to left needle, slip remaining three stitches of bobble over the k2tog stitch, knit that stitch, returning it to the right needle. A bobble stitch in crochet is a fun and textured stitch that creates little "bobbles" or raised bumps in your crochet work. It's made by crocheting 5 double crochet (dc) stitches together (dc5tog). It's a bit more advanced than basic stitches, but once you get the hang of it, it can add a lot of visual interest to your crochet projects. It's often used in making textured fabrics and decorative items.

You can definitely combine the bobble stitch and single crochet stitch in your crochet projects. The bobble stitch adds texture to your work and the single crochet stitch can be used to create a smooth and even fabric. By using these stitches together, you can create a unique and interesting design. You can alternate between the bobble stitch and the single crochet stitch in a row or pattern, or you can use the bobble stitch as an accent to single crochet stitches. The possibilities are endless! It's all about your creativity. You can try different combination and see what works best for you and your project.

In 2008, Ann Tucker gave 30 items, which consisted of a part of her toy collection to the Museum. Tucker collected figures from cereal boxes, fast food joints, and she bought some of them at a greeting card store. Tweety Bird made his screen debut during World War II. He became paired with his nemesis, Sylvester the Cat, in 1947. This bobble head was released to coincide with the movie, Looney Tunes: Back in Action, starring Brendan Fraser and Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester the Cat, and the Tasmanian Devil as well as our lisping yellow flying friend.

There are a variety of ways to knit bobble stitches. In this video we'll show you one of those methods. Always read your pattern carefully to ensure you work the bobble stitch required for your project. For example, some bobble stitches require more stitches, and are bulkier than others.

Think of making the bobble stitch as if you were making a group of 5 incomplete double crochet stitches into the same stitch. (Bobbles can be made with different numbers of stitches, but this version is one of the most common.)

The next stitch: Each bobble stitch is followed by another, shorter stitch like a single crochet. The shorter stitch on either side draws the fabric in, which defines the shape of the bobble and helps it pop through to the other side.

Spacing: Give your bobbles room to breathe! We recommend spacing bobbles a few stitches apart in a pattern for the best overall look. Clustering them too closely tends to diminish their 3D effect.

Note: This hat utilizes the bobble stitch, aka dc5tog, in a unique way. As shown in this video tutorial, usually the bobble is made from the wrong side of the fabric, and worked so that it pops out on the right side. This pattern is made in rounds, and the bobble is made from the right side of the fabric, so be sure to push the bobble towards you as you work the following single crochet stitch. If you prefer, you can substitute the Popcorn Stitch.

Love the hat and pattern but I've hit a wall. I've completed row 6 and have the correct number of bobbles and stitches but when trying to start row 7 I am confused! I cannot come up with a way to only dc in 52 stitches. To me every stitch meant every one but afterwards I saw it was over 100 putting a stitch in every dc and sc around. But if I only dc in the sc I can only come up with about 30 something dc. Where am I supposed to be placing these 52 dc exactly? I hate to give up because its a beautiful hat! Thanks so much!

Hi Monique, and thank you! It's hard to say exactly what's happening on your hat since I'm not there to see it in person. But at the end of Round 6 you should have 13 bobbles with 3 sc sts in between each one. 13 x 3 means you'll have 39 sc sts. 39 sc plus 13 bobbles equals 52 sts to work into. Re-reading your comment now, I'm wondering if you're trying to crochet into each half-dc of the bobble? A bobble counts as one stitch, so you just crochet one stitch into it. Does that help at all?

The Mini Bobble Trees are worked in the round from the top-down. Rounds are turned and bobbles are worked on the WS of work. The cinnamon stick base is made by gluing the cinnamon stick to the inside of the tree.

Bobbles are a great way to bring 3-dimensionality and interesting structures into your knitting. Many lace patterns, but also socks, hats, and so many other projects make use of them. They can be a bit tricky at times, so, in this tutorial, I want to show you how to knit the bobble stitch the easy way.

The bobble stitch is created by increasing one stitch into three and knitting 3 rows across before you decrease it again. This creates a flap of extra fabric that will look like a bobble if you knit it with a high enough tension. There are many different ways to knit it and this is the classic 3 stitch bobble (see below for further options).

Instead of knitting a kfbf, you can also knit one stitch, do a yarn over, and then knit into the same stitch again. It's a bit easier to knit but I feel the knit front and back version looks a bit neater. In the picture below, the first bobble was increased with the kfb over method, and the ones in the second row with yarnover/knit.

If you want to turn the bobbles into a nice knitting stitch pattern, then cast on multiples of 4 or 6 +2, and then make a bobble with 3 or 5 stitches in between - with two selvage knit stitches on each side. You can offset the bobbles by 2 or 4 stitches every second pattern row.
