Broken link or repository ?

Hey all here,

I'm very much interest in installing and using bio4j database on my own system, mostly because
I'm not familiar with these AWS thing. I have never done, and I'm a bit afraid of a "cost explosion" on an amazon account.

So, I'm going to dl and install all these data from

ftp.uniprot.org

which is time consuming, but possible when using FileZilla and resuming :-)

But one file seems to be corrupted started 3 days ago from now.

From curl the error is:

550 failed to open file

 The question is, others have same issue ?
The I would go for contact to the administrators !

Hi Detlef,

First of all great to hear about your interest in Bio4j.

I just tried to download the file that you mention and you're right, there seems to be a problem with it. 

Please let us know what they tell you when you hear back from Uniprot's team.

Dear Pablo dear all,

I have reported this issue to UniProt and first of all, it came out, it was a permission issue of this file /pub/databases/uniprot/current_release/uniref/uniref100/uniref100.xml.gz  ONLY
it was-rw-rw----

I do not wonder any more, why there is a 550 Permission denied error using an anonymous login.

Other files are -rw-rw-r--
which would be fine on that file too.

There is a another repository at
ftp.expasy.org

ftp://ftp.expasy.org/databases/uniprot/current_release/uniref/uniref100/

but the permission on uniprot should be fixed as well.
