למרות שגברים קווירים הינם שונים ומגוונים, ביסקסואלים ודובים הן שתיים מקהילות הגברים המרכזיות ביותר שקמו בעשורים האחרונים. מיהן שתי הקבוצות האלה? מה הדמיון והשוני ביניהן, ובין כל אחת מהן לתרבות ההומואית? בואו למפגש ודיון מרתק על התרבות וההיסטוריה של שתי קהילות קוויריות של גברים, שזכו עד כה לפחות חשיפה מאשר קהילות אחרות.
(ההרצאה תתקיים בשפה האנגלית, עם תרגום סימולטני למי שצריכ/ה).


על המרצה:



רון ג'. סורשה, נכדו של מאיר גצל שפירא (ממייסדי תל אביב), כתב את הספר "דובים על דובים" (Bears on Bears), וערך שלושה ספרים על ביסקסואליות שהועמדו לפרס למבדה לספרות להט"בית בארה"ב. הוא ממקימי וממפעילי מחלקת Bear Bones Books בהוצאת הספרים הלהטבא"קית Lethe Press. סורשה גר עם בעלו מזה תשע שנים בקונטיקט, ארה"ב, והוא מבקר בישראל באופן קבוע.

Bi Guys, Bears, and Other Queer Men


Although queer males come in an infinite variety, bisexual men and those identified with the Bear community are two of the more prominent groups to emerge in the past few decades. What are these two sorts of men? How are they similar to, and different from, each other and from the larger gay male culture? Join us for an engaging talk and discussion that will reveal the characteristics and history of these lesser-known queer male subcultures. The program will be conducted in English.

Ron J. Suresha, grandson of Tel-Aviv pioneer Meir Getzel Shapira, is the author of the nonfiction book Bears on Bears and editor of three Lambda Literary Award-finalist books on bisexuality. He is also the Cofounder and Acquisitions Editor of the Bear Bones Books imprint of LGBTQ publisher Lethe Press.
