The same thing happened to me when I first downloaded the app onto my Xbox Series S. While physically on the app only 3 letters would cycle through the shuffling. Like A through C or T through V, for example. After searching online for other users that suffered the same mishap, I came across your post. I have been patiently trying to figure out a troubleshoot for this (for you, myself and any others) and stumbled upon this ability to fix such issues. If you press the xbox home button and open up your Apple Music from the menu, where it shows up underneath Home and My games & apps, you can press start while having shuffled toggled and it will cycle through your entire library from A-Z, straight from the Home Menu.

As noted by users on Reddit, music can be played in the background while gaming.

However, the listening experience with the Apple Music's web player isn't as good as the official app. There always happens with frequent crashes and hiccups while playing Apple Music in the background through the Edge.

Apple Music is a subscription-based music service, so there's no free playback option here. If you are a subscriber though, or if you're looking for a new paid music sub, this finally provides an alternative to Spotify on Xbox. Plus, there's a free one-month trial for new members (in the UK at least) if you fancy trying it out.

We haven't tested out the application too thoroughly just yet, but it seems to be going down very well with Apple Music subscribers on Reddit, who are happy to see another music option finally arrive on Xbox.

Microsoft has finally brought Apple Music over to Xbox consoles. It's been an eventful week for Microsoft as the company announced a slew of partnerships alongside new products and services amid its annual Microsoft Ignite event. Among these include official Apple Music support for Xbox gamers.Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it's bringing Xbox cloud gaming to Meta Quest 2 via Xbox Game Pass, though not all Game Pass titles will be available in VR and users would need to be Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers in order to experience the service. Similar to Spotify and Pandora on Xbox, players can listen to music via the app in the background while gaming.
