And some people think the steak was overcooked and not that great. And instead, the salad surprisingly tasted good. Not everyone has to enjoy every arc. Imo especially Dressrosa and Wano had many problems, but some good individual moments.
I wouldn't use Reddit as proof that something in One Piece was really divisive. Looking at the One Piece subreddit, it has roughly 989,000 people in it. If we assume One Piece only has 12 million fans (I'm using this number since that's apparently how many weighed in on the first global poll), then the entirety of that subreddit would only make up around 8% of the entire fanbase.

The spoiler indicates that Gear 5 does have a downside to keep it from being too OP. Luffy can barely keep it up for long, and each time he powers down he outright deflates and looks as if he's aged decades.

For this entire series we've been gradually building up the Myth Arc and all of the prophecies around it, yet Luffy himself has remained completely oblivious to any of that. He doesn't know what's going on, and as we've seen numerous times, doesn't care either. All he wants is to have the best adventure imaginable. Hopefully it lasts.
