HiI just set up another network a few days ago using another IPtime wireless router. All routers basically have the exact same steps I outlined as I bought 3 different ones. I recommend to upgrade your firmware which worked for me when I had problems and also resetting your router. Push and hold the router with a Pen for 30 seconds and try the steps again

bro

i have a service provider which have given me some accounts to access internet through a satellite based system. now that setup is connected to iptime router wifi. so when i am logging into any one account through the router the wifi becomes open and any other device can be easily connected to it without password into the same account.

i want to configure router such that after logging in into the service providers account wifi network to be a closed one.and also to be able to access into more than 2 service provider accounts through one router at a time.

Hello

That message means the router is not connected to the modem properly. If you still get the error after properly connecting the 2 devices, there might be something wrong with the cable connecting the router to the modem.

hello! i have the iptime a604 router. i followed all the instructions and it says it was successful on the setup module, but when i try to connect it still shows up as the default iptime SSID with no password. any idea how to fix this? thank you for your helpful guide!

My printer has, from time to time, ended up with a new IP address (after a power outage or something similar), and I've had to delete it from my printers options on WIndows and re-add it so that it can use the new IP address to connect to the printer.

It happened again a few days ago, so I decided to manually set the IP address on the printer, and reserve that address for the printer in my router. I opened up my router's settings, and checked the "Attached Devices" tab, and I see all of the devices connected to my router, EXCEPT FOR the printer. The IP address the printer is using is not showing as an attached device, nor do I have any canon devices showing up. I have one device showing as "unknown" but when I looked up it's MAC address, it is one of my smart tvs. I verified that information by disconnecting the tv and confirming that it no longer showed as an attached device.

Is this common? If not, how can I "force" my printer to show up as an attached device to my router? When I search for printers on Windows 10, it finds the printer and connects to it, and I'm able to print fine, so I know the printer is connected to the network and functioning properly.

Find your printer in the list of devices, select the radio button and press "+Add". This will save the assignment. For good measure, power cycle your printer. This will ensure the router assigns the IP address you have reservered for it.

If you can't see it, look at the log and cross reference the time and date stamp when you plugged it in. You'll see it's IP, and MAC. Armed with this info, you can add the reservation "Easiest Method" as stated above.

I am running the 1.0.0.58 version of the firmware, and the LED for my printer's connection on the router is green. It's just bizarre that nothing shows up as an attached device or using the IP address that my printer is set to, even though the printer is working properly.

I did manually set an address on the printer, and I did reserve that address in the router manually. It now shows the printer's MAC address and "UKNOWN" as the device name.

I was always able to access the printer's webserver, even when it didn't show on my router. LIke I said, it's some really wierd glitch. Hopefully, it will work to keep me from having to readd the printer every time the power cycles.

( January 25th 2013 Update, a Year there-after ) in the midst of frantic credit card payments I return to the joy of wireless router set-up .. just because it is mucho more dubious and often curiously incomprehensive (more so on earlier models post-Millennium) than more-mechanically visual computer assembly .

if all attempts fail, even though you have read through this, the Advanced Security Page AND all comments here-after : there really is no reason left for you to use ipTime router, for their monopoly in South Korea is in essence due to saturation of differing (mostly in the number of antennas) AND incredibly prompt and loyal product support, or even the second runner-up in AnyGate . alternate manufacturers and models are listed on Wireless Router Page on top menu .

( June 14 2013 Update, a Year & 1/2 after) as a NEW World is on the horizon including iOS 7, iPhone 6 and iPad Mini 2 with the next generation of game machines in Fall : just to let you know I am constantly editing this content as more (?) people seem to have trouble connecting .

( December 11th 2013) captured photos above have since been changed to English menu, as it is finally available although ONLY on their latest firmware AND in their most expensive model . menu locations are the same for you to compare with your Korean firmware on other ipTime models . specifics on my Post of December 3rd 2013 .

( September 18th 2014 ) ipTime has slightly changed their firmware menu from this year . not much, but a few buttons have changed locations but within the same page . for those who have recently bought new, or upgraded firmware : you will have to do the guess-work until I capture and re-arrange again . good, as it is time for a rehaul .

OK blame it on me -_- I am very sorry and will buy you a Caramel Macchiato at Cafe Nestle at Subway Line 6 iTaewon Station EXIT 4, when you come to SEOUL .

mean-while simply RE-SET your router to factory-settings by pushing the tiny switch for say, 20 Seconds ..

as this would revert your device to DEFAULT Mode which should be Automatic .

I just bought iptime N104T, I am living in an apartment where each room has it own ethernet plug. When I connect directly from the ethernet plug to my laptop, it works perfectly. However, when I attach the cable from ethernet plug to the router, and another cable from the router to my laptop, it cannot connect the internet (the laptop connect to router properly but it just cannot connect the internet).

1.I have noted on several parts of this BLog that I cannot aid individual cases concerning Manuals, Repairs nor points-of-purchase,

however if you do decide to inquire inspite of that,

better state all situation in clear sequence for another party to recognize :

C.if you have an independent cable line, visible coming into your house/room

call your isp provider to come check its connection .

if nothing is wrong, borrow another routher that is NOT ipTime and try it with basic settings .

when you call-in a technician, it is vital you connect your computer without the router AND hide it out of view .

after he verifies all is well : then, take it out and inquire how to connect .

this is NOT his responsibility BUT should aid you to keep your subscription .

3.ipTime offers TWO automatic modes in diagram [B] above :

Center icon is for AUTOMATIC, so if it works, fine,

Right is for automatic WIRELESS and if it works, good,

(but neither sets up passwords for you, for private usage)

and this Post mainly deals with the Left icon which is MANUAL .

4.included are a few options for you

because I wanted to list all in one page

so if all this is too confusing, just try to pin-point on a single option that suits your surrounding or that you understand best .

No I cannot help in detail, for there are several factors in effect, on such switch between iSP internet service providers :

1. regional cable companies like your ABN AReum BroadCasting, offer some of the best package deals including cable, internet AND telephone .

2. however depending upon the change there may be other P2P file-sharing programs, which are more easier to configure, with even more content OR faster speed . ideally it is best to use TWO programs depending upon the type of file you share or seek . so spend the time to learn a few and experiment, since eBooks & magazines, songs, TV series and movies from back home are a God-send to far-away expatriates .

OK I will be very specific on this

since we now have /beaucoup/ foreign teachers throughout the Peninsula :

in short YES to all your questions, plus more 0o0

all controlled on the second group (out of two) menus on LEFT

Thank you for the quick response. I am working with the older model, N704M, but I am trying to see if I can see any similarities in your directions. The diagrams would be greatly appreciated whenever you can.

It is possible to change your IP address. You can refresh your IP address using a VPN, with a proxy server, by restarting your router or manually and automatically refreshing your IP address on your device.

A VPN doesn't change your device's IP address but instead reroutes your traffic through an encrypted server so that apps and websites don't view your IP, but that of the server you're connected to. Essentially, it makes apps or websites think you have a different IP address. Your ISP can't see your online activity, like the apps you're using or websites you're visiting, and sites or apps view your traffic as originating from your VPN company's server. VPNs are great for situations where you want extra privacy, need to access geo-blocked content or have to bypass throttling restrictions and censorship.

Setting up a proxy server differs depending on the platform you're using. Generally, you'll configure your proxy server address in your device's settings, enable your proxy and choose an IP address. Some proxy services include user-friendly apps, so you can just download an app, sign in, start your proxy and pick a server.

Your router assigns IP addresses to each connected device, so resetting it is supposed to make it forget your gadget and dole out a fresh IP address. Usually, it works, but sometimes it doesn't. If you still see the same IP address from before after a router reboot, try resetting your router again or for a longer period of time. Folks with a separate router and modem may need to reset both networking devices to obtain a new IP address.
