NcFTP was my first "power-user" program when I was first checking out
UNIX. lftp <http://lftp.yar.ru/> absolutely nails it in every single
respect, though. Background downloading, parallel downloading of a
single file, site mirroring, the list just goes on and on... and the
command-line UI is probably the best I've ever used outside of zsh.
