Using Experience Builder for developers (v 1.2), I want to use a side bar that covers part of the main stage content but can be collapsed to maximize page real estate. However, the content "underneath" the sidebar is unusable even when the sidebar is collapsed and the content is visible. Below, the buttons and drop-downs on the embedded dashboard under the sidebar outline do not work on the live application. I have to minimize the embedded content so that it is not underneath the side bar when the side bar is extended for it to work.
I figured out the problem - the sidebar widget has two panels and the map widget should go inside of the second panel to prevent the sidebar from blocking the map interface. I was placing it outside of the sidebar widget previously. Hope that helps!
I was having issues with this as well... I'm just trying to display a table on top of the map itself using a sidebar. I had the map stretched to full size and the sidebar widget stretched out along the bottom 1/3 of the page on TOP of the map therefore running into issues of losing pan/zoom capabilities in that bottom third because of the sidebar widget..... SO based off the solution here am I supposed to add a sidebar and put the map and the table in there together?? and will the map itself now reside within the 'sidebar widget' from now on?
I am having a similar issue with the side bar and also the map tools layout although despite adding the map to the sidebar widget in the second panel or having the side panel just overlay the full map it seems the map tools like Zoom/Home are covered up by the side bar unless it is collapsed.
Is there a way around this? In the Map Tools layout I wish a person could select the 'Small size' layout with all the tools on the right side as this would solve the issue if the side bar is on the left side. I'm not sure how to not cover up tools on the map with the sidebar if both the 'Large and medium size' tools layout put tools on the top left corner which is where I have the sidebar.
tried, module does not work proper. Such a shame, Should be straightforward to create an app template that inherit header and sidebar automatically. Also the new nav component does not have expanded default state or active nav item.
I was thinking you could create a module with the components that you want to be in your sidebar->Then create an app with a sidebar->Clear out the default sidebar components->Then drag & drop your module inside the sidebar:
hope that multi page projects comes soon.
In the mean time can any one help me with any resource where I can see how to change page with the sidebar ? I am want to click and change page also clicked menu should be focused.
I agree that the default ordering of categories should match that of the /categories page, which is determined by the fixed category positions setting. It does seem odd to me to use a different sorting mechanism for the sidebar, which currently always sorts alphabetically.
No, this is not the case. In the sidebar currently, categories are always sorted alphabetically. I agree we should change this to match the categories sort order if fixed_category_positions is enabled.
There are more changes coming to the sidebar to make stuff like this configurable by the user, but the site default should be settable by the admin and it makes sense to have it just follow the fixed_category_positions setting rather than just arbitrarily sorting alphabetically.
Additionally to the sidebar sorting it would be great to have a sorting filter on team pages for projects either in the tile or list views. Maybe the sort function affects both the side bar and the full screen. I have voted and am in favor of sorting.
I have no idea why they are forcing us to use the new version without asking us if we need changes in sidebar. OFC moving it width is OK, but project organization? It looks like its only for person who has 2 projects in asana.
So, you CAN move the projects but you NOW have to go to your TEAM, click on VIEW TEAM PAGE, and THEN move your projects around to work with them. They are NOT listed statically on the left sidebar except when as a recent viewed or favorite. PLEASE provide the option to change this back and make the redesign optional!
I'm afraid I don't love the new lefthand sidebar menu which is due to be rolled out next week. It takes up valuable space which would be better used for interface elements and data. The reduction in available space means that we'd need to redesign some interfaces, as data and field names are now truncated and don't display correctly.
Perhaps it could be adjusted so the sidebar rolls out when the user hovers over the far left of the screen, or similar?
Going to have to agree on this as well - for users who are using smaller screens, this side bar is a downgrade to the space designers need. It would be great if we could please have the option to switch between different sidebars before this is released to all users.
I have to agree, this is a disaster. There has to be a way to at least use the suggestion made by Chris_Luc and only have the sidebar appear when the person using the interface hovers over the far left.
Not a fan of the sidebar. Its taking up value space, my interfaces look rubbish now and its harder to use as we have to scroll on everything and cant see what we need on one screen. If it pops up over the top of the interface not affecting the interface, when you hover to the side with your mouse that would be fine. As is, this is a terrible change.
My organization is in the middle of a transition to a new ticketing system in Airtable and this interface sidebar has derailed this massive project. Not only do we need to reformat interfaces due to less horizontal space, this has caused an issue with the separation of our departments and is a navigational nightmare for front-end users. If this was only available for creators that would be one thing but since this has been rolled out to editors, we are facing significant push back. Many of our workflows are currently managed through Outlook and Airtable will replace these but this new panel things halted adoption which is saying something considering that the alternative is Outlook....
Please make customizing the sidebar an option. We mostly only use teams and all the other stuff is a distraction, especially since the sidebar is so narrow. So a vote also for being able to adjust the width of the sidebar.
@localhost (And for anyone else that encounters this) - I just had the same thing happen. The sidebar came undocked and refused to re-dock. I was unwilling to reset my profile. I ended up closing and re-opening LO and at that point the sidebar, while still undocked, would then dock correctly.
Side-by-side viewing. Compare the contents of two directories by opening two instances and placing them beside one another. (Nautilus used to have a feature that allowed this within a singe instance, Nemo still does.) Are two sidebars needed, or are they a distraction from the task being performed?
Maybe the best thing would be for the sidebar to disappear when you resize it to a very small size, with the handle bar, and only leave that bar visible, so that you just have to resize it to make it appear again. Also, clicking that bar could toggle the visibility state. I would find it more ergonomic than having to open a pop-up menu and click on a checkbox.

I installed the HubSpot Outlook Integration (Desktop, Windows 10) and it works pretty fine, if I open an email manually (by double clicking). But within the normal view (if the content is displayed on the right side of outlook, or below the messages) the hubspot sales sidebar doesn't show up.
I already tried to configure something, checked different view modes within outlook and seached for a solution, but couldn't find something helpul. To manually open every email by double-clicking it, is not as comfortable as having the sidebar directly visible (like e.g. the zoho sidebar).
I have a similar problem. Once the sidebar is open in default Inbox view, how can I lock it there? If I click to view a different email the sidebar closes, and I have to click the HubSpot icon again to open the sidebar again. It's a pain and slows me down a lot!
Sidebar is a theme feature introduced with Version 2.2. It's basically a vertical column provided by a theme for displaying information other than the main content of the web page. Themes usually provide at least one sidebar at the left or right of the content. Sidebars usually contain widgets that an administrator of the site can customize.
The $args parameter will be passed to register_sidebar() and follows its format, with the exception of the name, which is treated with sprintf() to insert or append a unique number to each sidebar if count is plural.
There are times you might need to call this function instead of register_sidebars(). An example of this would be when you want to give unique names to the sidebars, such as "Right Sidebar" and "Left Sidebar", or when they should be marked up differently. The names appear in the admin interface and are used as an index for saving sidebar arrangement. Please note: sidebar arrangements can be reused and overwritten when another theme is chosen that uses the same sidebar names.
