Dear Presidents and VPEs,

This is Never, your Division Governor. Could you imagine how time flies! Most of you are approaching to the half of your term(6 months). I'm writing to remind you the 3 important tasks we are doing or will do in the near future, to make sure we are still on the same page.

1. Contests.
Twice a year, contests are always there to provide a platform to our members, who want to improve their public speaking(contestants) and leadership skills(organizers). I know some of you have finished while the rest is still in progress.
Just want to list all 3 types of Contests:
1) International Speech Contest       -- only members with CC6 or above are eligible
2) Mandarin Speech Contest
3) Table Topics Contest
I want to block your calendar for following time slots when Area Level and Division level contest would be held.
Area B1:   3/23/2013 Sat.   Contact: Rosanna Bi
Area B2:    3/24/2013 Sun.   Contact: Shirley
Area B3:  3/31/2013 Sun.    Contact: Jesse Liu
Division B contest:  4/21/2013 Sun. afternoon     Contact: Never

* Clubs in Area B1 could send first place of each contest only to Area level due to 5 clubs now, for the clubs in B2 and B3, pls send 1st and 2nd place.
* All areas could send 1st place and 2nd place to Division Level
* Division B would send 1st place of each contest to Semi-final this May in Beijing Conf.

2. Renewal
Before the end of Mar, 2013, your club must submit dues of renewed members. I would encourage you to do it earlier in case traffic jam on IT's online system. Once you have done, pls inform your Area Governor, Division Secretary Rosanna and myself.
I believe you have received the notice from District that some gifts are ready for your club if you could meet some criteria. Good news! However, I would treat this event as the key of your club's survival and development.

Best practice for this big event are:
1. Core team:  President, VPM and Treasurer will lead this event and involve all the other offices to estimate each member's status and arrange 1:1 talk with those who may lose his/her direction or passion to try to get him/her back.
2. Testimony: Invite members to share their experience of being Toastmasters for long time

3. Beijing Conference.
Between 5/17~5/19, District 85 Spring Conf. would be held in Beijing. Estimated > 300 passionate Toastmasters would join. This is a wonderful chance for your members to meet with them.
If you haven't followed this event, I would suggest you 1) follow Sina Weibo @BeijingConference2013, and website: http://www.thisisworthit.org/.

Keep Moving Forward.
